Our Story
The very first winch by Circus Workshops was created in 1980. It was invented by circus engineer Vladimir Krasilnikov.
He developed his own design for the Circus Performer Lifting Winch – known for its high reliability, user-friendly operation, and easy maintenance. With a smooth lifting speed of up to 1.5 meters per second and a lifting capacity of up to 250 kg, the winch quickly gained recognition among circus professionals. Its smooth start and stop functions eliminated the harsh jerks that performers used to endure, revolutionizing circus mechanics and helping preserve the joints and muscles of aerial acrobats.
Where We Are Today
Based on that first model, more than 20 winch modifications have been developed – still widely used by circus performers today. Over the years, more than 700 winches have been produced, and most of them are still in active use.
As product quality improved, so did demand. Our company grew accordingly – first across Russia, then beyond. Today, Circus Workshops proudly serves clients in 30 countries worldwide. All our products are certified to meet national safety standards, tested in accordance with PTB-CIRCUS-77, STB-CIRCUS-2000, Order No. 914n of the Russian Ministry of Labor (16.12.2020), and accompanied by a Technical Passport and a 1-year warranty (or more).
